Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer Graduate Development Programme (GDP)

Function: Digital Technology

Role Type: Permanent

Start Date: August/September 2023 (there may be an opportunity to start earlier depending on role requirements)

Salary: £29,500 + £3,000 joining bonus + twice yearly pay reviews in 1st 2 years while completing the Graduate Development Programme.

Location: Hybrid/Remote working with travel to sites Harlow or Glenrothes as per business requirements

Travel: Graduates will be invited to UK events for GDP and there may be travel for the role as required by the business

Security Clearance Required: Successful candidates will be required to complete an SC clearance application

Summary of Role:

Raytheon UKs Digital Technologies (DT) department are responsible for supporting and enabling the wider business in the delivery of its core services – supporting Raytheon UK to successfully enable collaboration, operational activities, and business delivery.

The Cyber Security team operate within the DT function - providing subject matter expertise support, governance, and assurance, as well as technical security services to the function, and wider UK business. Ultimately working to ensure the ongoing security of Raytheon UKs critical systems and services.

The Cyber Security Engineer supports the team, and DT through supporting the management and administration of cyber security solutions, toolsets, and development initiatives. In addition, the role will be involved in supporting the identification of security issues and risks, as well as supporting security investigations and management alongside the technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Main Duties:

Across the Graduate placement, The Cyber Security Engineering Graduate will rotate through and work across the different functions, within the Cyber Security Team. This will include Information Assurance and Governance, Security Operations, as well as Security Services and Engineering.

This will be a varied role, exposing the applicant to a wide and diverse range of security activities.

These duties will include:

  • Administering and supporting Cyber Security toolsets.
  • Promoting Cyber Security Awareness, and best practise across the function and business.
  • Providing Cyber Security support to departmental projects.
  • Managing and responding to security tickets, and incidents.

What is the Graduate Development Programme (GDP)?

The Graduate Development Programme (GDP) is a structured training programme our class of graduates on the GDP complete over the course of 2 years in addition to their main role. We work in collaboration with an external supplier, HR and functional experts to deliver a range of training from improving business skills e.g. managing projects, business strategy, company presentation skills etc to team building activities, attending events and developing professional networking skills.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree (in the Cyber Security, or Computer Sciences field)
  • 120 UCAS points or equivalent (pre university qualifications)
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritise own workload, and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain UK SC Security clearance
  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.
