Skills needed to be a Customer Service Representative
We are looking for the following skills and attributes:
- Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to show attention to detail
- Ability to establish collaborative customer relationships in a fast-paced environment.
- A good attitude and the ability to interact with lots of different people.
- Professional and friendly telephone manner
- Customer Service experience
- Experience of working in a target driven environment to a high standard.
- PC skills, and the ability to navigate multiple systems competently, with ease.
- A good consistent typing speed
- Take ownership of situations with positivity, resilience, and a dedicated approach to providing service excellence.

Job Overview
- Start Date: 15/11/21
- Salary: £17,374 per annum
- Location: Glasgow
- Site: Glasgow City Centre - Renfrew Street office. Initially work from home until return to office based role
- Shifts: Full time, 37.5 hours working 5/7 days - fully flexibility required between Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5pm
- Training Duration: 2 weeks, Monday to Friday with full attendance required. Training may be on site depending on business need
- Contract: Permanent
- Requirements: Disclosure Scotland and Credit Check (We are only looking for outstanding CCJs, Trust Deeds and Bankruptcy, however we are able to work with applicants who are currently on a payment plan, and making regular payments)
Day to day responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative
- You will start your day signing into your systems, making sure you are ready for the day ahead.
- You will play a key role creating a unique customer experience supporting one of the UK's leading motor insurance providers.
- You will become a specialist in effectively closing sales for car insurance policies which customers have created via comparison websites or on the client website directly
- Discussing additional cover options and working with customers on first call resolution basis.
- You will troubleshoot/problem solve and through effective questioning and active listening look to resolve issues
- Working in a fast paced targeted environment you will strive to achieve, always looking to maximise opportunities, on your “A†game at all times.
- With an hour of rest time (made up of 30 minutes for lunch and 2 x 15 minute breaks) you will always have time to catch up with friends, get something to eat in the town centre, or perhaps grab some fresh air and go for a walk.
