About this role

The UK (small and medium business) SME market is a fast-moving, high volume segment that we address with a variety of sales channels each serving a distinctive purpose. SME in this context considers 6-250 employee companies.

The commercial team for SME is responsible for setting and delivering the business plan for the segment by creating the right portfolio and the right commercial/trading plan to deliver the business and customer outcomes to win in the market and grow the business profitably.

This role provides a fantastic opportunity to be the lead for BT SME’s cross-sell drive with a focus on Security, Wi-Fi, IOT & Software. This role will be responsible for ensuring that we grow the number of RGUs with our customers, drive customer loyalty & NPS and ultimately share of customers wallet.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Delivering financial returns through effective customer contract management and identifying opportunities to broaden scope and increase the value of customer contracts, with P&L responsibilities.

Own the cross-sell volume and value 12-month forecasts for the budget process

Owns 12-month road map for any new cross-sell propositions (in conjunction with propositions team) including sign-off on list pricing and agree on launch strategy for the base

Bring together churn insight, market and customer insight, P&L objectives and overall product offering to create a compelling, customer-centric set of trading propositions for our customers

Drive cross-sell within a base of customers to grow their RGUs, drive stickiness and grow value

Weekly trading: Working directly with Sales channels (Field and Partners), Marketing and Central commercial planning to accurately understand weekly performance, presenting clear insight on the current cross-sell performance

Interventions: Takes insight and current trading performance to create new trading interventions in order to improve cross-sell. This will include creating the concept, business casing the benefits, sign off with the channels and/or marketing, approval with Finance and launching the intervention

Consistent improvement: Creating PIRs on all interventions launched after an agreed period in order to understand if business case metrics have been achieved. Responsible for recommendation on whether to stop, continue, amend interventions alongside sharing learnings with wider Trading team

GTM: Own trading strategy on all new cross-sell launches into the base

Sales interlock: Key contact for Field and Partner channels for all retention activity on Data Networking

You'll have the following skills & experience

Commercial Acumen: Experience in taking insight and trading performance to create new commercial trading interventions including creating the concept, business casing the benefits in detail.

Storytelling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, data literate drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences.

Business acumen: Business and trading strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases).

Give Specialised Advice: Knowledgeable in base, retention and churn, customer value and customer lifecycle management within subscription businesses. Provides guidance and counsel on complex and unfamiliar situations and leverages other experts to develop solutions to maximise CLV and retention efficiency.

Commercial Specialist/P&L Management: Able to manage a P&L from Revenue and costs through to GM/EBITDA.

Be Agile: Leads collaborative and agile ways of working through projects and programmes effectively managing changing priorities.
