We are looking for a highly skilled craft editor with significant television news experience to join our team to join our Technology & Innovation story team in Glasgow. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to play a key role on the BBC’s flagship technology programme “Click†which broadcasts to a domestic and international audience every week.
Role Responsibility
- Edit and deliver the programme Click in several different durations for broadcast and the Iplayer on a weekly basis.
- Reversion content from each episode of Click into various different formats/durations for the BBC language services.
- Working closely with a variety of different reporters and producers editing packages both in person and remotely.
- Able to use multiple editing platforms depending on the location
- Carry out different edits on material for digital platforms.
The Ideal Candidate
- Be fully conversant with AVID Media Composer, and have a good knowledge of AVID Media Composer effects
- The successful candidate will be a craft editor with experience of long and short form items and programmes.
- They will be used to editing quickly to meet news deadlines but also be creative.
- They will be able to work alone or as directed by a reporter or journalist with an understanding of the journalistic/production aims of the output.
- They will need to be a highly motived self-starter with the ability to work under pressure to a high standard and have good interpersonal skills.
- Familiar with the technical requirements of FCP and Adobe Premier
- Experienced in editing VTs with very high production values.
- Clear understanding of the BBC’s Editorial Guidelines.
