Description

We’re looking for a Costume Designer to support the creation of a new play ‘The Killer Question’.

​

The costume designer will be responsible for designing, constructing and sourcing all costumes for this touring production. They may also be required to assist in the dressing of the set and sourcing additional set and prop pieces inline with the aesthetic direction of the piece.

Duties and responsibilities

• Designing the costumes for the production

• Working closely with the Director

• Working within the agreed costume, set and prop budget

• Constructing and sourcing all garments

• Sourcing additional set and props

• Dressing the existing set

• Ensure that all paperwork and invoices are kept safe and shared with the Production Manager.

Essential skills and qualifications

• Excellent finishing skills and a great attention to detail

• Experience of garment construction

• Good time-management skills, including the ability to turn work around quickly Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Proven track record of making garments and costumes

• Flexible, hardworking and organised

• Positive and constructive attitude

• The ability to remain calm under pressure

Desirable skills and qualifications

• Good knowledge of basic Health & Safety.

• College degree in Costume Making or Fashion Industry
