We’re looking for a cost to serve manager to join us and help us identify cost to serve saving opportunities across our business. Since Nisa was acquired by Co-op in 2018, we’ve focused on combining the best of both organisations to offer something new to independent retailers and commercial wholesalers across the UK. More scale and better product ranges give Nisa partners a real competitive advantage.
In this role, we’ll look to you to own cost savings projects all the way up to sign off and implementation – from identifying cost to serve opportunities through to crunching the numbers and forecasts and putting a compelling presentation together. You’ll work cross-functionally with a wide range of colleagues and teams across the business to support the implementation of these initiatives and make sure they’re delivered in time. If you have strong commercial insight and the deep understanding of retail we’re looking for, then we can offer you a unique opportunity to make an impact across our business and help shape the future of Nisa.
What you’ll do
• identify cost to serve saving opportunities and create a timeline for delivery
• work closely with external and internal teams to agree the appropriate opportunities and savings projects
• collaborate with our commercial finance teams to accurately capture details and savings, making sure there’s no overlaps or ‘double counting'
• develop ways of tracking and measuring savings in line with audit and finance practices
• articulate any partner impact and support in the communication of this via our comms and retail teams
• engage the buying and trading teams to make sure that any supplier impacts and admin are effectively managed
• report weekly and period on savings secured versus budget targets
This role would suit people who have
• a trading or finance background
• a proven track record of delivering results and achieving financial targets
• a strong customer focus and commercial insight
• excellent analytical skills
• great communication and influencing skills, with a talent for building and managing meaningful relationships with partners and leaders across the business
• good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• an ability to think strategically and focus on the big picture
Why Co-op?
Here you’ll do work that matters. We’re a commercial organisation with a purpose beyond profit, you’ll have an opportunity to help us build a stronger Co-op and stronger communities. You’ll also get a package that includes:
• competitive salary
• individual private healthcare
• coaching, training, and support to help you develop
• pension with up to 10% employer contributions
• annual incentive scheme
• Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
• 28 days holiday (rising to 32 in line with service)
• discounts on Co-op products and services
Building an inclusive work environment
We’re actively building diverse teams and welcome applications from everyone. But simply having a diverse workforce is not enough. We aim to build an inclusive environment, where everyone can contribute their best work and develop to their full potential. We celebrate our differences and recognise the importance of teams reflecting the communities they serve.
