Role Purpose
Collins Aerospace Systems, part of Raytheon Technologies, is on the lookout for an experienced (Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager) to join the team.
Collins Aerospace has a brand-new opening within our Missions System business in Wolverhampton as a CORE Manager working within our Wolverhampton, UK facility. This opportunity is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the CAS Value Stream Director and will be responsible for leading and supporting continuous improvement activities to achieve high impact on business results.
This is a permanent position at Wolverhampton. We are looking for someone who has experience developing and implementing lean, continuous improvement and six sigma processes in accordance with the CORE (Customer Orientated Results and Excellence) criteria and program directives.
Key Responsibilities:
Project manage the Lean Transformation program, moving the site forward - achieve milestones and deliverables toward future state goals.
Effectively implement process and facility improvements for sustainable performance
Work with the local value streams to achieve the Macro plan moves within their area but also keeping the site vision in mind.
Project manage ‘QCPC projects and DIVEs to completion
Lead CORE domain certification activities
Lead/ support continuous improvement activities to achieve high impact on business results
Improves or supports projects related to process efficiency and resource effectiveness
Updates internal/ external CORE monthly reports
Supports obeya/ Policy Deployment Process Reviews (PDPR)
Develop and implement new methods, tools, processes, standards, or operational plans that will have impact on the achievement of functional results
Manage the CORE training program
Manage the CORE event delivery program
Skills and Experience
Train and coach others to deliver improvement using the CI tools
Ability to lead teams in problem solving activities using structured techniques
Ability to motivate, gain commitments and hold stakeholders accountable
Excellent communicator and coordinator – professional presentation skills
Degree level qualification (preferably in Lean, Quality or Business)
Continuous improvement experience
Project Management skills
Strong organization, planning, and action plan execution capabilities.
Methodical – using structured tools and techniques.
Proactive and self-motivated with strong desire achieve team success
Ability to research and lead technical discussions on ACE tools
Tenacity, patience and teamwork culture to train and coach stakeholders
Disciplined - providing status and reports in a timely manner
Excellent time management - ability to manage multiple activities effectively
Ability to motivate, gain commitments and hold stakeholders accountable
Energetic and results oriented, ability to lead teams to resolve problems using structured techniques
Supervisory / Team Leading experience would be advantageous
Qualification in Business, Lean, ACE (CI), Quality or Management Discipline would also be desirable
Excellent communicator and co-ordinator - Professional presentation skills
Effective Co-Ordinator / Facilitator style with ability to deliver kaizen events would be an advantage.
