The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Cook.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare food and set up the serving area daily for meal times in the Arlington dining area.
- Ensuring the timely daily production of food as advertised on the menu, meet customer meal requirements for food allergy, special diets or cultural diets
- Be responsible for daily food service to customers at evening meal times.
- Alongside the Catering Manager take responsibility for the daily operations of the kitchen, providing leadership and direction in the kitchen.
- Work with the Catering Manager to ensure all recipes, food preparations and presentations meet the dining areas specifications and commitment to quality and costs.
- To ensure weekly stocktakes and other weekly administration are completed as directed.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, clean kitchen and storage areas.
- Demonstrate by example using correct food handling techniques.
- To deputise for the Catering Manager as and when required.
- To perform any other reasonable duties as requested by your line management or the organisation.
- Ensure all compliance records are completed and maintained in good order.
- To conduct oneself and all interactions to promote respect and dignity at the core of communication and actions.
- To attend training courses as required.
What you will need to succeed

The successful candidate will:
- Assist with Menu planning.
- Ensure all food items are portion sized correctly.
- Ensure kitchen and storage areas are kept clean and organised.
- Support the Catering Manager with product ordering.
- Support the Catering Manager with maintaining inventories.
- Stocktaking and accountability.
- COSHH ‘Control of Substances Hazardous to Health’ trained and aware.
- Able to undergo DBS check/previous DBS number.
- Demonstrate good communications skills at all levels
The Offer
Hours: Monday to Wednesday 11:30am – 7:30pm (1 hour break)
Salary: £11.04 21 hours per week
