Job Description
We are looking for a cook to help us run our busy Community Café service, open 6 days a week. The Café provides snacks & low-cost lunches, plus a pre booked 2 course lunch on a Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook & present food to recognised standards & costs
- Ensure all equipment & machinery in the catering facility is maintained at a safe and serviceable level
- Ensure current health & safety, environmental health & hygiene standards plus other appropriate regulations & procedures are maintained. (The café is proud to hold 5* issued by The States of Guernsey.)
- Maintain the cleanliness of all equipment used.
- The Cook will complete any other duties as could be reasonably expected in the fulfilment of this role.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Relevant qualification in food/preparation cooking or catering at Level 2 minimum (Level 3 training ideal).
- Working alongside employed & voluntary staff, you must be able to demonstrate excellent customer care & be a willing team player.
- The ability to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army.
