About the role:             

We are looking for enthusiastic Casual Cooks to work at Whanganui Hospital. Hours of work are on an as and when required basis.

The great things you'll do:

In this position you will be responsible for preparing and cooking of the meals for the hospital kitchen, this includes vegetarian and vegan meals, along with salads and excellent sandwich and roll production. You will be using fresh and seasonal produce each day, following recipes, being creative and using your flair and imagination! In addition to this you will be assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties.

What we are looking for:

If you're our perfect candidate you will be a team player, passionate about food and have excellent time management skills. You will have outstanding customer service and be flexible, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude. Having the ability to work proactively both independently and as part of a team is essential, as is a minimum 2 years' experience as a Cook/Chef. Ideally you will have previous experience working in a café environment and hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167). You will be a pro at Health & Safety, but, most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
