About the role and who we are looking for:

We are looking for a Cook to be part of our team who will be producing healthy, daily school packed lunches for Year 1 to 13 students in local schools.

This is a Permanent Part-Time role with a minimum of 20 hours a week, during education terms only based in New Plymouth. Don't worry, this just means you can have more time off with your family or you can pick up extra work across our sites in the region. Our operation is a 5-day week operation Sunday to Thursday 06:00 - 14:30, with production being early morning for delivery the next day.

What you will be doing?

In this position you will be responsible for, but not limited to for assisting the Manager with the daily operation of the Kitchen. You will be preparing, cooking and presenting food ensuring the quality of lunches we serve are of top quality! This will include; preparing, cooking and presenting food, while ensuring the quality of every dish we serve. Health and Safety is our number 1 rule, you will be an advocate and role model for safety in the workplace. Along with keeping the kitchen clean and tidy. You must be confident with Microsoft applications and computer use.

Our perfect candidate?

• A good understanding of allergen and dietary requirements is essential.
• Reliable, flexible, hardworking and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a production kitchen environment
• Hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 & 168) and Level 5 Cookery qualifications
• will form great rapport with suppliers, delivery personnel and kitchen staff.
• will be great with numbers.
• will have a flexible approach and the ability to keep calm under pressure but most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for customer service and quality.
