Robert Half has an urgent need for a interim Controller for our client in the tech sector. This role will be 100% REMOTE and will be reporting to the VP of Finance. Our client is a very innovative global tech company that has been experiencing exponential growth in the past few years and is projecting the same growth in the near future. In this Interim Controller role, your responsibilities will include overseeing the process to ensure that day-day and month-end accounting activities are correct and are fully accrued each month, as well as verifying and holding finance team accountable that end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting, and related financial controls are operating effectively. The interim Controller role could lead to permanent full-time opportunity for the right individual.

Primary Responsibilities

- Responsible for all day-to-day accounting aspects including month-end journal entries according to IFRS 

- Reconcile Intercompany activities and prepare consolidated financial statements

- Review and monitor controls to ensure they are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance

- Obtain understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

- Prepare/review Audit schedules as assigned and conduct audit research and answer questions.

- Acquire understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

- Ongoing monitoring of actual spend against budget, as well as leading actions needed for any expected shortfalls

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you are a designated accountant (CPA or equivalent), with at least 5+ years in a accounting/finance managerial role. You are comfortable working independently and can provide mentorship, guidance to junior staff as needed.

- Background in virtual engagement with global teams around the world and being a leader across finance teams

- Skills to assess process and internal control weaknesses and identify improvements

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field

- CPA and/or CMA preferred

- Proven communication and negotiation skills, ability to establish trusted advisor/consultant relationships, and capability to influence Executives and Business Decision Makers

- Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

- Qualified in office and accounting computer systems

- Expertise in IFRS Accounting

- Consolidated Financial experience

- Comprehensive knowledge of international financial reporting standards

- General familiarity with month end closings

- Adeptness in Consolidated Financial

- Foundational knowledge in Multi-currency

- Demonstrated knowledge of Consolidated Financial Statements

- Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience

- Good understanding of ERP system is highly valued
