The opportunity
We currently have two Contract Governance & Assurance Manager opportunities within the Contract & Commercial Management team.
This opportunity would suit a seasoned Contract Governance or Supplier Risk Management professional with extensive experience in effectively defining and managing commercial and third party supplier risk exposure, providing governance advice across a range of procurement and contracting strategies and contracts.
The Governance & Assurance manager provides enabling support services across Transport for NSW's procurement and contract management teams and activities. Managing and improving compliance to policies and risk mitigation provisions or measures, contract management is conducted transparently and in alignment with Transport for NSW's and procurement and contract management guidelines and policies, and maintains integrity in the delivery of all contract and commercial activities.
The role will develop and implement various contract governance and assurance frameworks and strategies to drive quality and consistency in the delivery of procurement contract and commercial activities.
This role will report the Senior Manager - Enterprise Supplier Risk Management and will work with 2nd line risk managers across the cluster to develop and implement appropriate supplier risk assessments across material procurement contracts and provide advisory to stakeholders regarding governance assurance measures applicable based on the risk profile of various procurement categories across the cluster.
Aligning contract management frameworks, contract management plans and procedures with legislation and contract structuring to incorporate supplier risk controls and establishing ongoing pipeline of governance and assurance reviews during the contract lifecycle.
This greenfield supplier risk management team that operates with a high level of autonomy and determines key operational objectives and transformational change programs within the limits of delegated authority. Roles are accountable for the delivery of assigned work and the quality, integrity and validity of the service provided.
The role defers to the Senior Manager on issues that have a significant political impact or issues outside of financial delegation.
Key accountabilities:
Manage contract governance and assurance reviews across the clusters dedicated portfolio
Develop, implement and maintain contract governance frameworks and systems.
Provide contract and supplier risk assessments and commercial advice across the procurement source to contract lifecycle.
Develop, maintain governance processes and associated supplier risk management procedures with effective communication and stakeholder change management plans.
Standadisation of various TfNSW governance and assurance performance reports.
Develop and continuously improve contract governance management training for TfNSW Contract Managers enabling compliance with applicable governance frameworks and guidelines.
Ensure key stakeholders are aware of changing governance requirements, supplier risk management policies, processes and procedures.
Develop and provide advisory on contracts structuring and applicable risk provisions to sourcing and category management teams.
Align governance and assurance activities and procedures to governing legislation and frameworks.

About you
You seek an opportunity to apply your supplier governance and risk management assurance nous, but equally develop and stretch your stakeholder management and transformational change skills to harmonise contract governance practices across the Transport for NSW cluster.
Extensive professional experience in the contract supplier governance and assurance, contracts management, supplier risk management advisory.
A tertiary qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) with ideally CRPM or ISO post graduate qualifications coupled with in depth of knowledge of effective risk mitigation and governance controls throughout a contract's lifecycle.
Experienced in the development and implementation of supplier governance and assurance frameworks and reviews and contract risk assessments and monitoring.
You will also have the ability to build collaborative stakeholder relationships, gain consensus and commitment from others, influence decision making based on sound reasoning and consider the broader context to develop practical solutions to complex matters.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9A, $135,898 - 9E $152,204 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
