The opportunity
We currently have two opportunities to join as Contract Governance & Assurance Manager within the Contracts & Commercial Management team.
This opportunity would suit a seasoned Contract Governance and Assurance professional with extensive experience in writing and implementing contract management policies and frameworks and providing contract governance advice across a range of commercial contracts.
The Governance & Assurance manager will provide oversight, training and support services to various Transport for NSW’s procurement and contract management teams across the cluster, implementing initiative’s to enable compliance, contract performance, transparency and alignment with Transport for NSW’s and procurement, contract management and governance policies, and that all obligations are tracked, monitored and reported consistently.
Another key aspect of the role will be to develop and implement of harmonisation of various existing contract governance and assurance frameworks, policies and procedures to drive quality and consistency in the delivery of procurement contract and commercial activities and providing contract governance establishment advisory to stakeholders across the cluster.
Developing and aligning newly formed frameworks, policies and procedures with NSW legislation and managing interagency contract management governance and assurance review schedules of material contracts across the cluster or in response to internal audit requests.
Key accountabilities:
• Manage and schedule a pipeline of contract governance and assurance reviews across the clusters
• Develop, implement and maintain contract governance policy, frameworks, procedures and systems.
• Provide commercial and contractual governance establishment advice for a range of procurement categories supporting sourcing and category management teams as required.
• Develop, maintain and continuously improve governance processes and associated procedures with effective communication and change management activities.
• Standardise, harmonise and disparate TfNSW governance and assurance performance reporting methodologies and templates.
• Develop and continuously improve contract governance management training for TfNSW Contract Managers to enable compliance with governance and assurance policy requirements.
• Manage stakeholder engagements to ensure awareness of any changes to governance requirements, policies, processes and procedures.
• Align governance and assurance activities and procedures to governing legislation and frameworks.

About you
You seek an opportunity to apply your governance and assurance nous, but equally develop and stretch your skills across stakeholder management and change programs designed to harmonise contract governance practices across a multi-agency remit.
Extensive professional experience in the governance and assurance arena, reporting and tracking of commercial benefits schemes and contract management and drafting frameworks and procedures.
A tertiary qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) coupled with practical knowledge of writing effective commercial and contract governance frameworks and procedures and experienced in developing and implementing a schedule of commercial contract governance training and reviews.
You will also have the ability to build collaborative stakeholder relationships, gain consensus and commitment from others, influence decision making based on sound reasoning and consider the broader context to develop practical solutions to complex matters.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9A, $135,898 – 9E $152,204 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
