Job Description

The BBC Children’s Content Commissioning team are looking for a Content Compliance Manager to join the unit and ensure that high quality programming from around the world is fit for purpose on both CBBC and CBeebies.

Brand managing off-the-shelf acquisitions, you will be responsible for reviewing and complying content in accordance with BBC editorial guidelines to ensure that assets are delivered in a timely fashion by third party partners, and that crucial transmission deadlines are met. 

Role Responsibility

The Content Compliance Manager will:

  • Build and manage relationships with new or emerging suppliers as appropriate
  • Review off-the-shelf content and ensure it is editorially compliant and in line with BBC editorial standards
  • Continue relationship with post house and assigned editor to ensure that material is retrospectively cut if necessary and re-versioned in a suitable manner for Children’s BBC platforms
  • Populate PTK compliance forms with detailed notes and submit prior to transmission
  • Be the brand point of contact with internal stakeholders such as the planning, web, social and in-house teams
  • Liaise with Mediahub team to ensure that ancillary materials such as paperwork, music cue sheets, images are delivered in a timely manner
  • Liaise with Acquisitions Editor to ensure that post budgets to not exceed cap and understand what properties are expected to be acquired in the planning pipeline

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for:

  • An understanding of Genre/BBC Content editorial strategy
  • An in-depth knowledge of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code
  • Considerable experience in either an editorial compliance role or a comparable discipline
  • Knowledge of the programme making process.
  • Ability work to defined processes and tight deadlines, with excellent attention to detail
