Accountabilities

• Reviewing underwriting submissions – ensuring they are within strategy

• Calculating appropriate risk premium by considering the risk and utilising pricing tools

• Effective relationship management with brokers and clients

• Servicing of new and existing accounts (endorsements, account queries)

• Working collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters, underwriting assistants and management team

Skills/Experience Required

• Knowledge of London market business and how the London market works in terms of placement

• Competent IT skills

• Confident and articulate – needs to be comfortable engaging with brokers and undertaking negotiations

• Analytical – be able to review submissions and understand if it is a risk Aviva wishes to underwrite

• Self motivated team player

• Lateral thinker – the ability to not just follow the process until the computer gives the answer!
