Ryman hold a strong commitment towards our people and central to that is ensuring everyone gets home safe, everyday!

  • Join an organisation committed to personal growth & development
  • Work on a multi-million-dollar ($75m+) construction project
  • Support our commitment to getting "Everyone Home Safe and Well."

Ryman Healthcare

A construction career at Ryman is different from the average. Ryman is the developer, designer, builder and operator, this pioneering approach means your only focus will be supporting our construction teams to build world-class communities for our residents. You'll finally have a stable job in construction and most importantly, we never cut corners, because we've cut out the middlemen instead!

We currently have 29 sites in our landbank, 16 of which already have development underway and we have our strongest build pipeline of future villages - ever, which provides a stable career in construction.

The size, scale and complexity of our projects match any in the industry. They include a full range of spaces from multi-story apartments, hospitals, cafes, swimming pools, townhouses and everything in between, with build values ranging from $75 - $250million across the length of our projects, which typically take 2 to 5 years.

Employing over 6700 team members in Victoria and NZ, we are one of Australiasia's fastest-growing construction employers and our sites use the latest innovations.

What will you do?

We are seeking an experienced, site-based Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team at our Takapuna project in Auckland. You will assist in driving a positive health and safety culture - one that actively promotes a healthy and safe environment for everybody on site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fostering a positive health, safety and wellbeing environment on site, ensuring there is a safety culture where risks are identified, reported and controlled by working closely with all team members, sub-contractors and other personnel on site
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of health and safety processes based on company policies, relevant regulations and codes of practice
  • Administering H&S systems and tools based on company policies, as well as ensuring all near misses and incidents are reported and are escalated to Senior Management
  • Supporting the H&S Advisor to review sub-contractors Site-Specific Safety Plans and risk assessment documentation to ensure they are of high quality
  • Conducting safety inductions and regular site walks to foster positive relationships with the team

What's in it for you?

If you are the sort of person who loves working with a team of people who work to a clear purpose and have safety at the forefront of everything that they do, you'll love this role!

In addition, a career at Ryman offers:

  • Competitive salary with the opportunity to join our employee share scheme
  • Job security and continuity of work with our strongest construction pipeline ever
  • Ongoing support for professional development
  • Career progression opportunities
  • Additional wellbeing leave
  • A social and supportive team environment
  • Access over 60 discounts with well-known brands across a variety of sectors including; health and wellbeing, banking, insurance, and retail

Who are you?

You will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to influence, persuade and guide people and a clear passion for safety. You are reliable, self-motivated and enjoy managing a busy workload. In addition, you will have:

  • Demonstrated H&S experience within the construction industry. This experience is non-negotiable and expertise in vertical construction is preferred. We know this is challenging so we will consider experience in civil too
  • Experience in a high-risk industry with knowledge around critical activities
  • A passion for driving a safety-first culture where people clearly demonstrate safe behaviours
  • A team player - you value contributing to the success of those around you more than your personal achievements
  • You are flexible and adaptable and adjust your style to work effectively with different people
  • You value people, kindness and strong teams, and are passionate about learning and delivering excellent results
  • You strive for excellence; delivering a high-quality service at speed will be second nature and you keep going, even when there are bumps in the road
  • You believe in the value of strong, positive, trusting teams who work together as one
  • You value communication that is simple, clear and straight to the point

If you are interested in working with an organisation with a clear purpose and a commitment to kindness and safety we would love to hear from you. Apply now!
