The Role 

This role is for a Product Architect to support development of Vodafone’s Fixed Connectivity underlay Product range.  The Vodafone underlay Product range provides high speed connectivity across a global footprint targeted at branch and data centre connectivity. Vodafone’s Underlay Product range includes

Cloud Connect : Branch and Datacentre level connectivity to Cloud Service Providers AWS, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, IBM and Google

IPVPN: A Private IP-MPLS based WAN solution for national and multi-national enterprises delivered in 74 countries with direct connectivity and a further 108 countries with indirect connectivity. IPVPN supports connectivity to data centres, small branch locations, large sites, remote locations. IPVPN provides differentiating underlay capability for hybrid overlay products such as SDWAN. IPVPN supports a range of access technologies with speeds up to 10Gbps. IPVPN supports a range of network features including 6CoS, M-VPN, VRF Lite, IP Multicast, IPv4 and IPv6. IPVPN underpins: Collaboration Applications, Video Conferencing, Mobility, Business Applications, Security Applications third party and customers.

Ethernet Services: The Vodafone Ethernet Product range provides high speed LAN extension across a global footprint targeted at data centre connectivity. Vodafone’s Ethernet Product range comes as two main variants: Switched ethernet and dedicated ethernet,

DIA/IPTransit: Uncontended, unlimited access to the internet via our hyper-connected, wholly-owned, global IP backbone. Provides secure, high performance private internet connection connectivity. Supporting upload and download speeds between 2Mbps to 10Gbps. It can be a standalone product or an underlay for SD-WAN. 
 

As a Product Architect you will translate new product capabilities and features into a high-level solution that spans the end-to-end product scope: including service experience, customer interfaces and development requirements.

This role will have the following responsibilities:

• Product architecture deliverables for underlay product features
• Contribute to agile product backlog EPIC’s, capabilities and features ensuring adequate acceptance criteria
• Document solution options as part of the Technical Product Feasibility
• Document the selected solution as part of the Product high-level design 
• Review solution context and low-level specification for OSS/BSS platform changes
• Manage third party deliverables ensuring clear terms of reference and statements of work 
• Ensure project expenditure is in line with budgetary commitments
• Work in a large-scale virtual team to determine product and service building blocks and how they interact with each other
• Provide technical leadership with the virtual team and facilitate seamless integration between solution building blocks
• Ensure design and development embraces Vodafone technology model, methodology and standards 
• Engage with operational and support functions to collect and discuss requirements and solutions 
• Present solution to technical and not technical audience and run know-how transfer sessions 
• Endeavour to be a pro-active team player, capable to be part of a high-performance team, capable to deal with multiple workloads and prioritizing the most relevant activities

With us, you will:

• Ensure accurate end to end technical and service specification and delivery of new Product Features in line with budget, time and quality
• Capture and Manage all requirements and ensure they are translated into a logical incremental delivery plan (including MVP) and in line with Sage Agile Principles and Vodafone Governance model
• Ensure accurate OSS/BSS integration for new Product Features 
• Review key product documentation from internal stakeholders and external suppliers, including backlog, HLD’s, Low Level designs
• Manage End to End, Design Oriented, Risk Assumptions Information Dependencies/Decisions (RAID) logbook during Product Delivery Lifecycle

Apply if you have: 

• Knowledge and understanding of the Fixed Connectivity and particularly Metro Ethernet Forum products
• OSS/BSS integration experience
• Service Design knowledge
• Safe Agile Awareness or even better Certified

Desirable areas of expertise:

• Previous experience in JIRA tool in the context of requirements and management and RAID log management
• Previous Experience in Atlassian Confluence tool
