The Asia Pacific Community Program Manager role will provide a motivated individual an opportunity to foster engagement with leading technical community experts within the Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia region in Asia Pacific.  This front-line responsibility allows the Community Program Manager to engage with MVPs and RDs in their local geography and to work broadly across Microsoft teams and community organizations.   

 

Responsibilities

Here are some key responsibilities an Asia Pacific Community Program Manager is responsible for within this Region:

  • Deliver community success within the Asia Pacific region guided by the MVP and RD Program strategy
  • Identify leading technical community experts to join the MVP and RD Programs and manage award renewals for existing MVP and RD technical experts.
  • Ensure the quality of our MVP/RD program members continues to rise and set the highest bar for our customers and communities.
  • Develop an inclusive process, gathering feedback, nominations, requirements and ideas from all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure there are great, actionable community engagement plans which are aligned across our MVP/RD audiences.
  • Advocate on behalf of MVPs/RDs and be an influential voice to the MVP/RD program teams.
  • Manage ongoing communication and engagement with MVPs and RDs and serve as the primary relationship manager
  • Plan, organize and execute MVP-sponsored community events in key regional markets across the United States.
  • Partner with field, marketing and business development teams to identify and cultivate high-value and connected experiences for community leaders.
  • Track, promote and report on success of community efforts.

Qualifications

  • Confident communicator who inspires leadership and community engagement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in leading discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Data driven with experience with PowerBI.
  • Ability to engage with a wide range of audiences (from customers up to senior management).
  • Deep understanding and passion for technology and technical audiences.
  • General understanding of the Microsoft Developer and IT Ecosystem and compete environment.
  • Ability to think creatively and challenge the status quo.
  • 5+ years related experience in community engagement and management and leading cross-team projects.
  • Experience with leading Microsoft and/or non-Microsoft communities (OSS, Android, iOS, AWS, etc).
  • Experience working across cultures and business environments.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and data driven self-starter who can develop and communicate a clear plan.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Computer Science.
  • Ability to travel an estimated 10-25% of time.
