CommUnity is a fund generating program that generates money for New Zealand Community groups by uniting merchants (businesses), community groups and everyday shoppers to support and strengthen one another. Every time a CommUnity Member shops at a participating CommUnity Merchant, a small percentage of each transaction is passed onto the CommUnity Groups or charities of that Member’s choosing. Our purpose is to put as much funds back into New Zealand communities as possible.

We are looking for people who are passionate about our programme, and who can sign up their local community groups and businesses, and create relationships with local councils and media.

• Available a of minimum 15 hours a week
• Have reliable transport or access to public transport
• Own or have access to a smartphone for daily use
• Ideally have sales experience
• Resilient

Key role objective:

• Build relationships within your allocated area/areas communities to spread the word about CommUnity and get community groups to register.
• Identify, build relationships with, and methodically approach and follow up local merchants (retailers) within your allocated area/areas and have them register as a CommUnity Merchant.
• Ensure that both groups understand how to maximise the benefits of their involvement.
• Develop relationships with local councils and media

Key tasks and daily activities:

• Planning for a methodical approach to contacting community groups and businesses (ie. sports groups, education, business by area or type etc.)
• Emailing local business to introduce yourself and CommUnity
• Follow up emails to businesses with face-to-face contact
• Cold calling local businesses where/when opportunities arise
• Actively track business leads
• Follow up CommUnity Groups and CommUnity Merchants to ensure they are maximising the benefits of their involvement
• Present to staff of larger merchants about the benefits of CommUnity
• Work with local councils to present to business meetings, community groups etc.
• Record meetings and interactions such as email and phone calls in HubSpot CRM system
• Ensure you have regular/daily communication updates with your Regional Manager
• Present yourself in a tidy, well presented manner at all times and approach all clients with a positive/happy/friendly attitude. A CommUnity branded vest/shirt will be supplied.

Optional Commission Remuneration:

• Ambassadors can choose to receive a commission payment for each Merchant (retailer) that registers with CommUnity within their allocated area/s. This can be directly following your one-on-one approach or remotely with your Merchant signing up online independently using your allocated Ambassador code. If you do not wish to receive this payment, you have the option to gift it to a CommUnity Group of your choice.
• The same on-going annual commission equivalent payments will be made to Ambassadors on the anniversary date of each of the merchants in their area that renews their ‘annual listing fee’ as long as both the merchant and the Ambassador still belong to the CommUnity program during this time.
