We are recruiting a Communications Manager to oversee the communications strategy and delivery for BBC TV Programmes Desk. The role covers delivery and oversight of high impact TV publicity campaigns for programmes across the Daytime and Early Peak areas on BBC One and Two, as well as some long running peak TV shows. There is also a very high level of reputation management work and reactive handling for programmes that sit with the desk. Task management of a small team plus oversight of the publicity campaigns of Communications Officers in the Corporate Press Office is a key part of the role. It will be busy and fast-paced, but hugely rewarding.
The post holder will develop creative communications strategies, to reach a wide range of audiences around the UK. Within this role you will advise senior executives on media strategies, offer support for speeches and presentations, whilst developing and integrating communications plans, and provide guidance and task management to the team encouraging creativity across all mediums. You will be a communications expert with the expectations of establishing and maintaining a strong network of editorial contacts across all media.
There is close working with the Corporate Press Office and a requirement to take part in an on call rota for Programmes Desk.

We are looking for someone with senior-level experience of both corporate communications and project-based publicity campaigns, specifically within television.
The successful candidate will have experience across production of press materials and messaging, ensuring our programmes are clearly communicated across press and social media.
You will have a passion for TV with an extensive range of contacts across the industry and media landscape. You will possess outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to develop, maintain and enhance collaborative relationships with a wide variety of internal and external partners and stakeholders at all levels.
You will have an established track record and knowledge of working creatively across traditional PR and social media, with a demonstrable knowledge of digital communications and strategy to reach all audiences.
Proven crisis management experience is also required.
