About this role

We are moving from selling point products to building solutions. Digital solutions that are based on customer outcomes. You will be responsible for leading the CPS base management capability and to define customer segmentation and link commercial plans for both prospects and customer base that maximise value for BT and deliver on strategically important multi-product migrations such as moving customer from legacy voice to IP voice, from copper-based access products to full fibre-based access products, from traditional managed services to next generation managed services and from 3rd generation to 4th and 5th generation Mobile.

You'll have the following responsibilities

People: To lead a team of people collaborating effectively across Foundation Services. Setting ambitious targets and creating the right culture for your team to thrive and succeed.

Customer level plan for CPS: to pull together the overall commercial strategy for prospects and customers – linking the segment level insight/analysis, core base action plans with the strategic multi-product migrations.

Segmentation: to clearly segment the customer (prospects and existing) into meaningfully different segments which are actionable – e.g., product holding, digital maturity, industry, geography (availability of FTTP/5G), BT and competitor relationships, etc. Use internal BT data but also work with 3rd parties to landscape and complete the primary research to get this info.

Base management: to create and execute commercial plans to maximise value from those segments considering customer level Key Performance Indicators such as value, share of wallet, tenure and engagement/customer success.

Proactive campaigns and interventions can be actioned via direct engagement with sales and marketing, reactive business rules agreed with the trading teams and sales at the product level. To work with tech and channel management teams to evolve the prospect and base management capabilities available to sales and commercial teams.

Strategic multi-product migrations: To create multi-product commercial plans (instructions and business rules to sales, marketing and service teams) around the complex migrations we need to achieve on our base such as All IP, moving all our access products to Fibre To The Pavement (FTTP) and all our mobile products from 3G. Working with relevant props teams as needed on understanding what to sell to whom.

You'll have the following skills & experience

Commercial acumen – understanding of the levers that drive commercial performance including competitors, marketing, customer proposition, pricing, regulation/legal, sales and financials.

Decision Making - Making decisive trading judgements and decisions from many disparate information sources. Able to tell a story with data that demonstrates insight and underpins recommendations.

Financially literate: able to understand the financial performance of the business and how operational performance translates to financial outcomes in the form of a P&L. Support the development of complex business cases. Provide in-depth commentary that reflects understanding of wider operating environment.

Outcome orientated: Focused on delivering the best outcomes, being ready to challenge stakeholders as needed and manage areas of conflict with data driven recommendations to deliver at pace.

Effective planner and co-ordinator: create well-structured plans and effective governance in a highly matrixed environment.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Leads and manages conflicting priorities. To manage and develop a team, leading by example, to inspire and motivate, and improve performance year on year.
