Job Description

We are Commercial Interior Specialists who provide quality service in building projects and property maintenance throughout the greater Auckland region. With the ever increasing demand of our quality work and services, we are looking for an experienced builder with site management skills to join a close and friendly team.

YOU NEED TO BE:

An experienced builder/site manager holding a site safe passport, with an eye for detail and methodical approach.

Strong communication skills are essential.

This is a permanent position with a long-standing interior firm.

You will preferably have experience in the installation of a broad range of building materials including steel stud, suspended ceilings, glazing & aluminium partitioning profiles, etc, whilst carrying out senior labouring duties such as loading and unloading building and construction materials, erecting and dismantling structures such as barricades, hoardings and scaffolding.

Demolition and assisting with the reinstall of gib stud walls, glazing and doors.

Installing locks and finishing lines, mixing, pouring and spreading materials such as concrete, plaster and mortar, using ladders, swinging scaffolds, scissor lifts, trucks and other equipment to reach and demolish multi-storey structures, etc.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

The following tools are considered a minimum requirement that any builder will need to have accumulated: hammer, pliers w/ side-cutters, utility knife, tape measure, locking pliers, crescent wrench, screwdriver, margin trowel, carpenter & pencil or soapstone, tool belt and one pouch (bag).

Most safety equipment that is consumed or work specific, for example, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-capped boots. 

High-visibility clothing, concrete boots, respirator/dust mask and toe guards, and company uniform are provided by the employer as part of construction site safety. 

The applicant must be experienced and prepared to oversee our less experienced labourers, manage the site and contract they are on, and to want to be part of a young team. You must have the ability to self-manage your duties with minimal supervision.

ï‚· A willingness to support inexperienced staff.

ï‚· Start work at 7am (firm).

ï‚· Good comprehension of oral and written instructions.

ï‚· Happy disposition in stressful situations
