Commercial and Strategy Manager - Devices

Location:   Newbury (Approximately one day per week office based)
 

Vodafone UK’s blended working approach means you’ll come to your contracted hub location office as and when needed to get things done for your role and for tasks that require it, otherwise you will be able to work from home. Our ‘Office in a Box’ home-working kit will be available for all who need it during your onboarding journey.

As a specialist Commercial and Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for all strategic activity, including stakeholder management both internally and externally in relation to Vodafone UK’s hardware and device strategy for the Enterprise Business Unit.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide robust analysis of the device trends within Vodafone Business, manage the portfolio performance for key manufacturers (Apple, Samsung etc), and devise both the short-term and long-term strategy to deliver a market leading mobile service offering. 
Your main internal stakeholders will be, Terminals, Pricing and Proposition teams along with the segment and trading teams to support upcoming deals. You will also be expected to drive external relationships with our key vendors, providing key insight and commercial recommendations to drive benefits for all parties.
You will be the main point of contact for all device related queries from your stakeholder base, providing them with timely responses, insight and data analysis for decision making and strategic alignment.


What will you be doing? 
 

  • Understanding the strategic goals of Vodafone Business stakeholders and working with them to ensure our device strategy compliments and enhances the overall aims of the business.
  • Contributing insight to support device propositions, proposals and campaigns, implementing strong governance around sign-off process, provide performance metrics, benchmarks, monthly reviews and actionable insights to senior management to support data driven, insightful decision making.
  • Understanding of the systems and reporting from Terminals, finance and sales to ensure all insights are consistent and consumable for your stakeholders.
  • Understand and support the end to end process of the device lifecycle, working with Terminals to drive enhancements, review current practice and ensure data is accurate and all metrics are covered and automated, where possible. 
  • Ensuring that Sales Managers and the wider sales teams fully understand the process, timelines, and the operational aspects of these processes.
  • Managing the development of a new device proposition for large customers, to enable customers to unlock the residual value of devices, and allowing Vodafone to maintain a strategic relationship with our customers.

Who are we looking for?  

 

  • Experience of forming and creating strategic and tactical plans in a commercial environment.
  • Experience with large volumes of data and strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel experience (and potentially SQL)
  • Ability to create and share detailed insight through complex analysis.
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications and ICT environment, specifically mobile solutions.
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills, experience of conflict management.
  • Proven stakeholder management demonstrating the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong focus on delivery and attention to detail whilst working to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills – able to convey understanding and earn respect across EBU Stakeholders.
