Responsibilities:
- Provide technical skills to modify, optimize and monitor manufacturing process within specification requirements
- Create Set-up and tooling sheets per CNC programming requirements
- Design and make fixtures
- Select cutting tools and design special tools when needed
- Create solid models using Mastercam
- Optimize tooling speeds/feeds to minimize machining time
- Recommend and implement quality or method improvement projects with safe work practices to reduce cost, improve quality and increase throughput for new and existing processes
- Respond to shop requests for technical assistance and problem solving
- Store and manage data and documents on company network within structure requirements
- Operate within the company’s existing ISO System
- Complies with all company rules, policies, procedures, and programs
- Follow established safety practices and regulations
- Communicate effectively with peers, engineers, quality assurance and management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of work experience in CNC machine programming for mills and/or lathes
- Experience in Mastercam, knowledge of Solidworks an asset
- Proficient in the use of various measuring devices including caliper, digital indicator, micrometer, height gauge
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, charts, tables, quality documentation and various symbols regarding tolerances, surface finishes etc.
- Proficient in GD&T and practical application of GD&T
- Be able to work with other team members and management but also be self-motivated
