Our company is a 46-year company, is located in Pictou County in rural picturesque Nova Scotia. We are a family run business that empowers its employees and utilizes their skills and abilities to service a large, diverse, customer base – supplying CNC and conventional machining, full hydraulic services, component manufacturing and gear-box re-furbishing, is currently seeking a permanent full-time CNC machinist to join its team. the ideal candidate will need to be able to program, setup, troubleshoot and operate in a production environment producing quality small batch runs.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Excellent at programming and setups
• Read and understand Cad drawings and be familiar with geometric dimensions and tolerances
• Set up and operate CNC Turning Centers and Machining Centers producing small batch runs.
• Proficient in measuring and working in tight tolerances.
• Pay close attention to detail and assume responsibility
• Perform “First” off inspection and ensure all parts meet the drawing specifications
• Effectively communicate with supervisor and co-workers in a team environment or independently
• Dealing with changing priorities in a quick and efficient manner
• Maintain equipment and work area
• Following would be considered an asset but not a requirement:

1. Convention Lathe and Milling machine experience
2. CNC or Convention Horizontal Boring Mill experience
3. Fanuc and Mazatrol Controller experience
