Would you like to work on one of the largest retail transformation projects in the world, helping build a cloud platform from scratch? 

Asda Technology are looking for expert Cloud practitioners who have experience in developing and operating cloud platforms at enterprise scale. This new role will take responsibility for Asda's internal public cloud platform; its operation, adoption and evolution throughout our transformation.  

Asda are leading with a cloud first and cloud native strategy, utilising the latest technologies and techniques to enable our teams to truly take advantage of cloud computing. Partnered with some of the worlds largest IT organisations, you will be at the forefront of developing and shaping the cloud platform and operating model. Helping our teams onboard and ensuring continued operation for customers and colleagues.  
 

The role will be responsible for Asda's cloud platform team, with the vision of the team growing significantly in the coming months.  

Your Role

• Operational responsibility for cloud platforms within Asda, ensuring cloud services remain available for our customers and colleagues
• Manage, maintain and evolve the cloud operating model, enabling Asda's use of cloud services 
• Responsible for implementing the cloud platform roadmap, in line with our cloud architects and the wider IT strategy
• Management of strategic partners supporting the delivery of cloud services
• Ownership of FinOps processes and governance of cloud spend
• Lead and develop the cloud platform team, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Develop and maintain the cloud platform product portfolio and cloud service catalogue 
• Ensure the compliance of Asda's cloud platforms 

About You

• Extensive knowledge and experience gained in the build, operation, and development of cloud platforms. Ideally Microsoft Azure
• Strong understanding of cloud technology operating models and practices, with the ability to lead and implement change
• Excellent communication skills 
• Strong stakeholder management 
• Instinctive leadership skills and a passion for developing people
