About The Role

The Clinical Support Specialist will provide senior clinical and nursing leadership and expertise to home and operational teams, across a defined geographical area, to support the delivery of continuous improvement in care standards, regulatory compliance, risk management, quality ratings and KPIs utilising the Kind Care Model, and will contribute to the operational plan for the Care and Quality Department.

Facilitating a proactive and pre-emptive approach which prevents care quality issues arising, the Clinical Support Specialist will work in partnership with internal stakeholders to identify annual priorities for care excellence and develop a plan to support and address these.

They will assist with the accurate production and effective use of quality indicators and metrics, identifying causation and trends, utilising this information effectively to support a pre-emptive approach to quality improvement and will conduct investigations and undertake Root Cause analysis of serious events, and facilitate the sharing of lessons learned from incidents and complaints.

Acting as a professional role model for nurses promoting a professional, open culture that empowers nurses to deliver safe, kind, compassionate care, the Clinical Support Specialist will support clinical supervision and nurse revalidation initiatives providing coaching, mentoring and support for senior nurses as required.

About You

You are a Registered Nurse with evidence of further professional development in relation to care, management or quality. You have a thorough understanding of UK regulatory requirements, experience of working with health and social care regulators and of working with multi-site care home environments.

You have a strong focus on customer care, and are a confident communicator who creates professional and credible relationships at all levels, working collaboratively to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.

As an established clinical leader with strong leadership & influencing skills, you are able to effectively lead, coach and mentor home and field-based teams.  You have knowledge of quality improvement methods and tools and have excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

This role is flexible on location within a defined geographical area, the ability to travel and a full UK driving licence is required.
