Clinical Research Nurse Manager - Exciting professional development opportunity - Maternity relief backfill up to November 2022
The Clinical Research Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing a dedicated team of Research Nurses and support staff, ensuring the efficient operation of The Sydney Children's Hospital Clinical Research Centre (SCHCRC’s), and supporting the growth of the SCHCRC's national and international reputation for excellence as part of the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network Clinical Research Centre model. SCHCRC operates to support and promote the quality, quantity, and relevance of paediatric clinical trials conducted within the Sydney Children's Hospital by assisting investigators in all aspects of the development and conduct of investigator initiated and sponsored clinical trials across a broad range of sub-specialties and therapeutic interventions with the aim of improving the health of children.
What you'll be doing
The Sydney Children’s Hospital Clinical Research Centre (SCHCRC) operates to support and promote the quality, quantity, and relevance of paediatric clinical trials conducted within the Sydney Children’s Hospital by assisting investigators in all aspects of the development and conduct of investigator initiated and sponsored clinical trials across a broad range of sub-specialties and therapeutic interventions with the aim of improving the health of children.
The Research Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing a dedicated team of Research Nurses and support staff, ensuring the efficient operation of the CRC, and supporting the growth of the SCHCRC’s national and international reputation for excellence as part of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network Clinical Research Centre model.
The SCHCRC Research Nurse Manager will have an operational reporting line to the SCHN Associate Director Research Operations and a professional reporting line to the Director of Nursing, the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.
Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA) and relevant postgraduate qualifications, and/or experience in at least one of the following: a. Clinical protocol and CRF Development; b. Clinical trial set-up, coordination and project management; c. Clinical trial data management and reporting.
Demonstrated leadership and management experience and the ability to engender cooperation and support from collaborators from diverse backgrounds and professional levels.
Demonstrated ability to plan, and ensure execution and completion of clinical program(s) to the highest ethical and scientific standards, while at the same time demonstrating the ability to work well in a fast paced team environment.
Proven effective communication (written and verbal), problem solving, negotiating and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a strategic perspective while understanding all tasks involved in a clinical development/trials program(s) from developing a protocol through to finalising a clinical study report.
Demonstrated experience in project management, management of budgets and resourcing issues with minimal supervision including a proven ability to translate strategies into practical outcomes and action.
Demonstrated understanding of Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy and other relevant guidelines.
Strong computer skills using standard hospital packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) in addition to experience with a clinical trials management system(s).
