Job Description

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with a sound knowledge of best-practice psychological theories and treatment approaches to work with adults experiencing mental health difficulties within a forensic context. While not essential, previous experience with forensic, correctional, or other high risk-high needs clients would be an advantage. Professional Development is also supported through contract provisions. This role is full time, but this is negotiable for the right person.

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team

You will be part of a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team that provides specialist care to forensic clients in hospital, prison and in the community. As part of a regional service (covering Wellington, Manawatu, Whanganui, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Tairawhiti), you will also have the opportunity to be involved in wider service and local team development activities suitable to your skill-set and level of experience.

Moū - About you

You will undertake psychological assessments and interventions with clients in a forensic setting, liaising and working within a multi-disciplinary team to provide consult-liaison to other services including writing psychological reports to the court.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of a Master-s Degree in Psychology and Post graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
  • Registration with NZ Psychologist Board, with Clinical Psychology Vocational Scope of Practice
  • Experience working in the Forensic and/or Mental Health pathways
  • Current annual practising certificate
  • Full Drivers Licence
