The Clinical Psychologist will work within the multi-disciplinary Consultation Liaison (CL) Psychiatry and Suicide Prevention services at Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick (SCH). The Clinical Psychologist will work collaboratively with team members in the assessment and treatment of young persons admitted to SCH who present with a range of psychological symptoms. The Clinical Psychologist is expected to have experience in individual psychological assessment and the delivery of evidence-based treatments, including but not limited to cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy.

What you'll be doing

The Clinical Psychologist will work within the multi-disciplinary Consultation Liaison (CL) Psychiatry service at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick (SCH). The Clinical Psychologist will work collaboratively with team members in the assessment and treatment of young persons admitted to SCH who present with a range of psychological symptoms. The Clinical Psychologist is expected to have experience in individual psychological assessment and the delivery of evidence-based treatments, including but not limited to cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy.

Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology; registration with Psychology Board of Australia AHPRA and practice endorsement in Clinical Psychology or eligible to progress to same

Clinical skills and expertise with mental health problems of child and young persons

Understanding of psychological issues that can arise in children and young people diagnosed with an acute or chronic illness

Demonstrated understanding and application of a range of evidence-based treatments for a range of psychological disorders

Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
