We are seeking a Clinical Database Solution Developer to join Starship’s Pathways and Outcomes Programme for 12 months fixed term. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior IT professional with passion for database development, data analysis and service improvement to join our forward thinking team. The Clinical Database Solution Developer will contribute to the programme from grass roots development to implementation of strategic direction.
We are looking for someone with experience and expertise in the following areas:
- designing, building and managing databases, including data extraction, manipulation and reporting
- knowledge in Power BI, Business Objects, SQL server
- an understanding of the principles of MÄori data sovereignty and how they need to be upheld
- experience in supporting/managing other IT professional
- an understanding of the health sector would be beneficial
This is a rare opportunity to be part of a great team who are highly collaborative and solutions-focused in a newly established role. In this role you will design, develop, implement and support innovative, efficient and sustainable technical data and reporting solutions. You will be supporting Starship Child Health’s transformation to becoming an ‘outcomes driven’ healthcare service. You will also be supporting Starship decision makers to access and utilise self-service insights especially utilising data to identify and address inequities in our services, particularly those pertaining to MÄori children.

Key responsibilities:
- Deliver core business intelligence needs to support the equitable, efficient and safe delivery of Starship’s surgical and medical operations. Provide data and insights to support operational decision making and planning.
- Understand the decision-making processes, workflows, and business and information needs of Child Health Senior Leadership Team, Service Clinical Directors and Operations Managers
- Utilise data insights to support service-specific and Directorate wide operational decision making
- Support Starship Child Health to manage and grow our self-service intelligence environments linking back to the Data & Analytics where additional support is required.
About you | He kÅrero mÅu
- 5+ years Database development/Business Analyst or other relevant experience, in a complex organisation
- Outstanding stakeholder managementand communication skills
- A proven track record of delivery and exceptional work ethic
