The Client Development Team support all new business growth for Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland’s Corporate Card solutions. Working closely with the Commercial Bank arm of the business, the team are aligned with the Bank’s overall strategy of Helping Britain Prosper and ensuring we’re putting our Customers first, by bringing the right Payment Solutions to New and Existing Customers of Lloyds Bank.
The team is formed of business development specialists where on the job training will be provided to bring you up to the highest levels of capability, on par with the rest of the team.
As a Client Development Manager, you’ll plan, implement and carry out Lead Generation and New Business activities in order to meet or exceed our Division’s objectives. You’ll take on an established network of Commercial Bank Colleagues at an Exec and senior level to promote our Solutions across the Commercial Bank’s Customer landscape in Mid-Corporate and Corporate & Institutional Coverage (CIC) in the South West. A primary focus of the role is building knowledge of our latest commercial card solutions within the commercial bank and facilitating the introduction of these solutions to our key clients, driving new spend and revenue through our best-in-market propositions.
In this role you’ll build a strong pipeline of opportunities within the Commercial Bank, and also support the Commercial Bank in any New To Bank prospecting opportunities. Successfully looking to convert the opportunities into Live customers, who you will manage until the Customer is established, then carrying out a full professional handover to the Relationship Management team.
Your role will be to build excitement and interest around our most advanced commercial card solutions within the Commercial Bank and amongst our key Mid-Corporate and CIC clients. This will involve regular presentations both internally and externally as well as managing the full end-to-end process of identifying new opportunities, engaging with the Commercial Bank to gain introductions to those clients where opportunities have been identified and managing the on-boarding of these clients with the assistance of our dedicated implementation teams (where appropriate).

As an experienced new business manager, you’ll need to have a proven track record in signing Corporate New Business and managing the relationship from the negotiation and contractual stages, through to implementation. You’ll also need to have recent New Business Development Experience of 3 years or more in Corporate Sales.
Being able to manage and liaise with External and Internal Stakeholders at a senior level is essential for this role, as is excellent verbal and written communication, together with strong technical computer and software skills.
The role is a home based role which will require frequent travel to Customer premises and Commercial Bank Office locations including Bristol, Plymouth, Southampton and Reading, so ideally you will need to be based in or around the South West. Given the nature of the role, having a full driving licence is essential.
