The Police Administration Department is seeking to hire an auxiliary Clerk – Court Documentation position for the RCMP Detachment.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for transcribing police interviews of witnesses, suspects and victims from audio/video recordings. You will process, review and prepare various operational and administrative reports and documents, including court and legal documents such as subpoenas, summonses and law enforcement notices. Additionally, you will compose, edit and proofread routine correspondence and memoranda, and ensure consistency with the formatting of reports, tables, forms and other related material. You will also enter, amend and retrieve operational records in various police databases and liaise with various internal and external contacts.
Requirements
The position requires exemplary spelling and punctuation and an excellent command of verbal and written English. You must have the ability to type a minimum of 60 wpm and be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite. Transcription and related clerical experience are required. A background in Office Administration or Legal Administration would be considered an asset.
