We are looking to recruit a cleaner to assist in the smooth running of a busy programme of activities which engages with and responds to local needs within the community. The Corps currently provides a variety of activities and we are looking for a reliable and motivated person with the ability to work on their own initiative to help deliver a professional service. Ensuring that the centre is clean and always meets Health and Safety standards for the public.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake cleaning duties according to the cleaning schedule ensuring that facilities, including toilets, kitchen and communal areas around the building are maintained to a high standard.

Ensure Health and Safety and Environmental Health and Hygiene standards are maintained according to the Safe Working Practices, including wearing of any protective clothing.

Treat centre users and members of the public in a sympathetic, helpful and supportive manner

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

• Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements and procedures
• Experience of using cleaning equipment
• Ability to monitor stock of cleaning materials
• Ability to work alone with minimal supervision and on their own initiative
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including the movement of chairs and other equipment as required
• Ability to work as part of a team to ensure the overall aims of The Salvation Army are achieved.
