The Microsoft Industry Solutions Office of the CTO is looking for a Senior Architect with hands-on software development to shape and drive, in partnership with the Office of the CTO leaders, initiatives that extend across innovation, technical strategy, methods and tools, technical communities, readiness, and Engineering teams. This will require forming relationships broadly across the Microsoft ecosystem, supporting horizontal and vertical functions within MCS, assisting with Microsoft sales team pursuits, delivery reviews and keeping the organizational apprised on the latest developments in the cloud.
In this role you will be devising 'first time to market' solutions with Microsoft, working closely with Research Engineering Teams, sales Teams and Microsoft Customers to devise and create solutions; and scaling them out to implement cross-industry for other Microsoft customers.
We are searching globally for senior architects with hands-on software development experience and who can be considered subject-matter experts in one or more of the following technology domains: large scale systems {security/resilience}, networking (5G mobile infrastructure), sustainability technologies, mixed reality, robotics, and language/NLP technologies.

You should have professional hands-on experience with a proven track record of successfully shipping solutions to production systems, including a strong foundation on practical scale considerations such as performance and manageability. Good command of a second language, and experience working across multiple cultures internationally are preferred for the position.
You should have strong problem solving and data analysis skills to solve real-world problems. A postgraduate degree in Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics, and hands-on experience in computer systems, Machine Learning, or Multimedia Analytics/Processing are common among candidates for this role.
You are expected to be familiar and comfortable with leveraging open source code, GitHub resources, and the adoption of agile methodology in DevOps environments.
Demonstrating good business acumen supported by formal education (e.g. MBA) is a plus.
