MÅ mÄtou | About the Crown Secretariat for the Historical Abuse Inquiry:
The Royal Commission of Inquiry into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions (the Royal Commission) was established in 2018 and is due to provide its final report in June 2023. The Royal Commission's investigations involve all social and justice Crown agencies, which are providing a large volume of historic and current material, making witnesses and evidence available for hearings and roundtables, and responding to the Royal Commission's requests, findings and recommendations as it proceeds.
The principles-based, cross-government Crown Response to the Royal Commission is coordinated and supported by a Crown Secretariat. The Secretariat is responsible for developing and driving the overall work programme, ensuring agencies' efforts are integrated, and acting as the Royal Commission's primary contact point for the Crown. MŠte tūnga | About the role
Working closely with the Director of the Crown Secretariat, you will lead a Pacific interagency approach for redress and further development of systems and advice for frameworks to incorporate Pacific survivor and family voices, experience, expertise and culture within the Crown Response.
Using your experience within Pacific community and relationships with agency stakeholders, you will initiate projects and source meaningful investigative information to provide the highest quality advise for the Crown Inquiry.
