We are looking for an enthusiastic Chef to work at our Defence site in Ohakea, 25 km North West of Palmerston North in the Manawatu for a Permanent full-time time role with a total of 30 hours per week.
This is not your average Chef opportunity - this is a chance to challenge yourself in a unique environment while working with premium service and product.
Ko o kawenga/Your responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, whilst ensuring the quality of every dish we serve! You will need to be able to cook within budget, assist with ordering and menu development, as well as ensuring the health and wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management. Following high standards of food safety and hygiene is a must.
He kÅrero mÅu / About you:
You will have the ability to work alone and as part of a team, be flexible, and have a high attention to detail. You will be able to use your initiative and follow procedures meticulously for health and safety. You will also be hard working, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude.
You will hold the relevant industry qualifications, have proven experience working in a similar environment, and ideally hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168). Most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality. Access to your own vehicle is essential.
