About the role and what we are looking for:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Chef Manager to work at Amberlea Rest Home and Hospital in Warkworth, 1-hour North Auckland. Hours of work are Full Time from Monday to Friday (but can be flexible).
Your responsibilities:
In this position you will be hands-on cooking, leading a diverse team, as well as have dedicated weekly time for administration duties - this role is all go! You will be preparing, cooking and serving quality meals and snacks whilst ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. During the designated admin time you will be entering payroll, processing invoices, ordering, and managing compliance - being computer literate is a must!
This site is quiet, isolated and requires a reliable, independent and strong person who can lead a small team of 3 to 5 staff members. Exceptional service to the resident and client is an absolute must.
Ideal skills and experience:
If you're our perfect candidate you will be hard working and reliable, with a friendly, helpful, and supportive attitude. You will take pride in both your cooking and personal presentation. You will be familiar with food safety and health and safety standards and able to manage and maintain the company compliance program independently. You will have at least 3 years' experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen, have management experience and be computer savvy. You will already hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168) but, most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality!
