About the role and who we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Permanent Full Time Chef to work at our Massey University site in Palmerston North. Hours of work are Monday, Tuesday & Friday 11:00  -19:30 (30mins break) & Saturday & Sunday 07:00 - 15:30 (30 mins break).

This contract is during Education term time only. You may be able to be placed at other sites when the university is on term break.

So, that's a little bit about us, now to 'what will you be doing with us?'

In this position, you will be reporting into the Executive Chef and are responsible for preparing, cooking and serving top quality meals for our customers. You will need to be able to cook with recipes, assist with ordering and menu development as well as ensure the health and wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management. You will also be assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties.

Our Perfect Candidate?

• Will be hardworking, reliable and well presented.
  - Will need to work equally well independently or as part of a team.
  - Will be a people's person with a great sense of humour.
  - Will have at least 5 years-experience working in a commercial kitchen and same level of experience with preparing and presenting bulk food.
  - Will have excellent attention to detail in food preparation and presentation with excellent knife skills.
  - Will be proficient at customer service/interaction and be able to work well under pressure with excellent time management
