What will I be doing?

This is where you come in! Whānau are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be playing a key role in building relationships with our children and families here at BestStart Balclutha.

BestStart Balclutha is a small town centre with strong links to our rural community and we believe that the community is the heart of everything.

We take pride in being able to provide a home away from home for children aged 3 months to five years. You will be joining a team of Teachers who are kind, caring and have a good sense of humour.

Here you will be inspired and supported to be the best in every possible way.

The role of Centre Administrator provides plenty of variety between reception and administration work. You will be the first point of contact for our families, greeting our children and whanau, taking phone and email enquiries.

The administration side includes everything from enrolments and data entry as well as invoicing and account information.

The team have sound knowledge of assessment, planning and evaluation and are focused on encouraging and supporting each other to learn, grow and thrive alongside our children.

This position is permanent working 25 hours per week.

Role requirements :

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills- verbal / written
  • Attention to detail to ensure that processes are completed effectively and efficiently
  • Administrative experience and excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Computer literate with the ability to take on new skills, learn processes and new technology
  • Be able to take the initiative but also be able to take direction
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with tamariki and whanau
  • Abled multi-tasker who is welcoming, approachable and a team player with an excellent sense of humour
