We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Merchandise team as a Central Merchandise Assistant. You will be joining us at an exciting time in merchandising as we embark on a new project! You’ll be responsible for supporting the Central Merchandise Manager with the creation and distribution of stock flow and stock planning reports, conducting analysis and roll-ups to facilitate the successful realisation of category strategies across General Merchandise.

You will support the GM Division as a link between Commercial and Operational Planning, building cross functional relationships, sharing information, and reviewing forecasts to highlight potential operational pinch-points within future plans. Using your planning and organisational skills you will meet key milestones and support with the development and delivery of best practice.

You will have an eye for detail and superb analytical skills as well as a desire to learn and grow in your role.

 

About the role:

  • Assist the Central Merchandiser Manager to own and manage reporting requirements that support cross-functional teams and create and review volume forecasts with conversions into Supply Chain metrics
  • Produce regular summary/analysis for key Trading meetings in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure high levels of process compliance and data integrity, coaching out best practice and supporting as needed
  • Publish weekly stockflow actuals and forecasts (with unit/case conversions) recommending any action required
  • Maintain high level stock plans that can be used to model and influence planning strategy
  • Responsible for the conversion of forecasts from retail to units/cases for use by A&R and Supply
  • Support preparation for stockflow volume meetings, ensuring actions/owners are captured and follow up undertaken
  • Driving forward best practice for the use of MFP (Merchandise Financial Planning) and WSSI planning and forecasting
  • Summarising data trends/information leading to clear trading actions

 

What we are looking for:

  • Understanding and use of merchandising systems to manage stocks and product flow
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence key stakeholders at all levels
  • Merchandising/WSSI and product flow experience preferred
  • Experience in a commercial role with an understanding of retail planning principles
  • Strong analytical & numerical skills
  • Strong excel knowledge
  • Excellent admin and organisational ability
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
