Responsible to: Catering Team Leader
Working Hours: 16 Hours
Salary: £8.91 per hour
Location: Walker Art Gallery
Basis: Fixed Term to 27 February 2022
Purpose of the Role:
To assist in maximising sales from NML Trading Limited’s cafés. To provide excellent customer service and enhance the visitor experience at all National Museums Liverpool venues
Main Duties:
Selling and Customer Service
- Responsible for greeting the customers and communicating with them to ensure they receive the best possible service.
- Introducing alternative and additional sales. .
- To process sales in an efficient manner and in line with NML Trading cash handling procedures.
- To be aware of the company policy on returns and complaints.
- To assist with any complaints at a first level.
Security
- To ensure the security of cash in tills in line with NML Trading Cash Handling Procedures.
- To be aware of the possibility of theft.
- To be aware of the need for security of stock
Stock
- To assist in completion of stock takes
- To ensure that stock is put away correctly
Product Knowledge and Display
- To be aware of all available items, including daily menu changes.
- To display all items in the agreed manner
- To undertake any training proposed by the company.
Hygiene
- Be fully responsible for ensuring that an excellent level of hygiene is maintained at all times; complying with all legal and safety requirements. Ensuring that all areas are cleared, clean and sanitised using the methods stipulated by the company
Company
- Uphold and protect the company’s image and reputation at all times.
- To dress in keeping with the company’s uniform guidelines and maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene.
- Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with suppliers, Trading team members and other internal customers.
- Complete all the tasks as assigned by the Team Leader.
- Undertake such training and attendance on courses and seminars which will assist in the development of skills which are relevant to the department.
- Undertake duties in other areas of the business as may be required from time to time.
- Show the highest integrity and confidentiality in the pursuance of these duties.
- Adhere to and promote NML’s Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding Vulnerable Children and Adults and Child Protection policies. Monitor and update the NML Diversity Action plan.
- At all times display the upmost respect, tolerance and courtesy to the diverse richness of colleagues and visitors.
- To adhere to NML's Health & Safety Policies and Procedures, and make a contribution to the continuance of a sound health and safety culture within the department, particularly in relation to Manual Handling.
- Carry out any reasonable instruction given by Company through the management structure.
- Contribute to the management, discussion and communication of risk as appropriate to your role. Ensure you follow, adhere to and implement (where appropriate) effective controls for policies, processes and systems within your department, directorate and for the organisation.
