Medirest is our healthcare brand providing specialist food, hospitality and support services to residents and patients in hospitals, aged care and senior living facilities throughout New Zealand.

What we are looking for:

Medirest is looking for an experienced full-time Assistant-Catering to work at an aged care site in Te Atutu. The role would suit someone who can use their own initiative and get the job done quickly and efficiently.  Hours of work are a minimum of 33 hours a week.

In this role you would be responsible for:

• Assist the chef with preparation of food
• Provide excellent customer service skills
• Ensuring kitchen and serving area is kept immaculate
• Adhering to all cleaning rosters and food safety procedures at all times

The successful candidates will need to:

• Experience in a similar role
• Demonstrate excellent and professional customer service
• Ideally hold a food safety certificate (NZQA 167)
• Be hardworking with good communication skills
• Good English communication skills is essential
• Physically fit and reliable
• Be able to work independently and as a team player with a proactive 'can do' attitude
• Have a safety focus and an awareness of health and safety practices and protocols
