About the role and who we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to work at our Senior Living site in Algies Bay near Warkworth (1-hour drive from Auckland).  Hours of work are Part Time Permanent where you will be working Sunday to Tuesday 07:00 - 14:00 each week (subject to change slightly).

The great things you'll do:

In this position you will be responsible for assisting with basic food preparation, cooking and serving of the resident's meals. You will also be assisting with sandwich preparation, baking, and ensuring all requests are dealt with in a professional and timely manner. In addition, you will be providing superb customer service to the sites residents and assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties.

Ideal skills and experience you will have:

If you're our ideal candidate you will be helpful and reliable, with high standards in personal presentation, and who enjoys working with the elderly. You will be a multitasker, organised, and hardworking, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude. Ideally you will already have some experience working in a similar environment and hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167), or be happy to be train for one. Ability to follow a recipe and baking would be an advantage.  You will have superior customer service skills but, most importantly, you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.

To be considered for this position you: 

• will be a New Zealand citizen or resident or be in position of a valid NZ work visa.
• will need to Pass a Pre-employment Background Check.
• will need to provide evidence of your Covid-19 vaccination status.
