Top Energy has operations throughout the Far North. The Company is privately owned by a power consumer trust and employs staff in Geothermal Generation and Distribution Lines operations. It is an exciting time to join us. We are rapidly evolving from being a traditional distribution company to becoming a technology enabled distributed energy company that allows multi-directional energy transfers between generators and users.

 

Top Energy is seeking a person for a Fixed term role to develop and deliver new commercial opportunities in line with the Group's strategic growth objectives, ensuring creation of shareholder value and supporting the goal of decarbonisation.

We have already commenced our sustainability and decarbonisation journey, with several opportunities in the pipeline for the successful person to develop further and deliver great outcomes in addition to their own ideas.

Key areas of focus will be:

  • Develop solutions for carbon utilisation
  • Scout for innovative and clean carbon utilisation technologies and solutions
  • Validate value propositions and current technology readiness level and assess the investment needed to commercialise solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to research and develop each solution
  • Responsible to deliver the business case to bring technology to pilot or commercialisation
  • Develop and coordinate delivery of other renewable projects aligned to strategic imperatives (shareholder value, regional development, decarbonisation, etc).
  • Work with industry to develop business models to realise opportunities
  • Identify development opportunities that help meet our goals and overall development objectives
  • Liaise with regulators and government to advocate for Top Energy development and recognition of carbon improvement initiatives
  • Develop and commercialise solutions for prospective customers

 

To succeed in this role, you will have at least 5 years relevant experience in a similar role. It is essential that you have electricity sector knowledge, renewables development and programme management experience. You must have proven excellent written and oral communication skills and have experience being part of an effective team.

 

This role does not need to be based in Kerikeri and flexibility exists for the successful person to work remotely and travel as required to fulfil the requirements of the role.
