About the role and who we are looking for:

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and empathetic Permanent Full Time Café Manager to lead our team at Canterbury Museum in Christchurch. This position is Monday to Friday 07:00 to 15:00, includes public holidays.

What will you be doing?

In this position you will be leading a small team, with cooking of cabinet food and making barista coffees as well as managing your time for daily/weekly administration duties - this role is all go! Your admin duties will include entering payroll, processing invoices, ordering, and managing compliance - so being computer literate is a must!

This is a busy site and requires a speedy, reliable, independent and a strong people-person who can lead the site. You will also have a passion for working with both internal and external museum staff and the general public and be able to build relationships with them as well as well as the client. Providing exceptional service to the general public and client is an absolute must!

Our Perfect Candidate?

• Will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory position.
• Should have excellent customer service and be a people's person.
• Will be able to meet deadlines
• Will hold excellent barista skills
• Have management experience and be able to inspire and lead a team
• Will be familiar with food safety and health and safety standards and able to manage and maintain the company compliance program independently.
• Will have proven experience working in a hospitality/commercial environment.
• Will, most importantly demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality!
