Metal Concepts – CAD Designer

We’re hiring! And we would love for you join Auckland’s premier metal design and fabrication business. We incorporate the latest technology in material processing to offer design and fabrication services to the wider Construction and Architectural markets including Facade, Metal Ceilings, Woven Metal Mesh, Louvres, Balustrades, Handrails feature Metalwork and much more.

Metal Concepts is looking for expressions of interest for the position of CAD Designer with 4+ years of experience in a similar role.

In this role, create detailed drawings for architectural projects, working with the project managers on the best way to deliver the solution. We are looking for an experienced designer, ideally from the architectural construction sector with a min of 4 years work experience and good practical knowledge of the industry.

Other responsibilities include:

• Create bills of materials and assembly instructions to enable the ordering of components and planning of manufacturing.
• Create detailed installation drawings.
• Liaise with Production Manager and staff to ensure designs are manufactured to the design intent.
• Work with Project managers and site installers to create install plans when required.
• Develop MCL branded products, procedures, and systems.
• Work with the ERP system to manage item codes for project and standard products.

Skills and experience required:

• Experienced designer, ideally in the architectural construction sector with a min of 4 years work experience and a good practical knowledge.
• Ability to apply design and drafting skills to a range of projects.
• Have a high level of skill detailing fabricated items.
• A have strong client & team focus, with a passion for delivering quality
