Description

This role is for a Municipal By-Law Officer and is an excellent opportunity for someone with a legal/law enforcement background to gain municipal government experience. 

This is an opportunity to utilize your training and education from police foundations, security or another related field and put your experience to further utilization in this municipal environment.

You will be working with a small team that is responsible for following up on zoning regulations and by-law enforcement. Your day to day work may include occasional representation in court, and site visits to commercial or residential properties. In addition you will be responsible for all documentation of your work and assessments, following up on phone calls from residents and business owners and be able to deal with concerns using effective customer service techniques.

Requirements

For this role you will need to possess the following skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability in successful conflict resolution
• Computer literacy using primarily MS Office products
• A valid G driver\'s license with a clean driving record, and available vehicle
• All candidates are required to undergo background check

\"Nice to have\" additional Skills/Training:

• Any level certification with the MLEO (Municipal Law Enforcement Officers\'
• Post-secondary education in Police Foundations or another similar program
