The Opportunity

Here at Harrods, we currently house some of the most highly regarded pastry chefs and bakers in the industry, and our food halls are world renowned for stocking the highest quality luxury food items in the UK. Through our people, we drive ourselves and inspire others to always push for more and to create moments of magic for our customers. You will be working alongside one of the best patisserie and bakery counters in the world, coupled with a passionate, talented, and creative Buying team who believe that anything is possible.

We are now looking for a commercially astute, and innovative internal Bakery Buyer, to work predominantly with our team of pastry chefs and bakers to source, sell and buy products of the highest standards for customers of our iconic food hall.

This role heavily relies on an awareness of food retail and what that means, strong internal collaboration and relationship building with all teams this role touches.

The Bakery Buyer will be continuously analysing performance and has a clear oversight of trends and opportunities in the market. Reporting into the Buying Manager, the Bakery Buyer will be supporting with the development of and execution of the wider Food & Beverage strategy

About you

• You'll have previous food buying experience
• Time spent in a buying role within a grocery or luxury department store
• Be able to build strong cross department relationships, particularly with our chefs and kitchen team
• You'll have great planning & organising skills
• Have a resilient personality and retain a cool head under pressure
• A passion for food and a creative mind is essential. As you'll be working closely with our in-house chefs and bakers, you'll have the opportunity help develop what goes on sale to our customers!
